Mission Statement

Our mission at HCAT is to be the vital source for local access TV providing Holliston news, events, information and entertainment by and for Holliston residents.

Holliston Cable Access Inc. was incorporated in 1985 with the initial cable television license.  Space was found at Holliston High School to build the production faciltiy.  The first volunteer training class was held in 1986 and the first local television program, Holliston News and Views, was broadcast.

In the years that followed the corporation grew from one part time person to the current two full time and one part time employees.  Instead of manually cueing and playing video tape, a computerized, digital playback system is used to replay our programs.  We recently began to provide programs on demand via our web site so viewers can watch our programs at their convenience on most electronic devices.

HCAT also provides a bulletin board system that is displayed between programming to provide information to the community.

Today HCAT has several interesting, informative, and entertaining programs produced by volunteers.

The corporation is managed by a 7 person board of directors who volunteer their time to manage HCAT.

Volunteer with us!

All of the programming produced for our three channels, Public, Education and Government, is provided by Holliston resident volunteers.  Access television provides residents a vehicle to express their opinions, creativity, and interests through video.  Training and equipment is available at no charge.

Opportunities exist to produce your own program, or help existing vounteers with their productions.  Whether you choose to run a studio or portable camera, assist with editing or in the control room, the choice is yours.  You can spend as little or as much time as fits your schedule.

The best yet, its FUN!  Meet new people and be a part of a great group of your peers trying to make Holliston better.
